Sandia Peak Tramway welcomes all groups of any size to ride the tram.
We offer discounted rates for school groups.

Sandia Peak Tramway has over 100 education-related groups visit every year from New Mexico and other states! We also offer a Field Trip Guide that will help you plan for your group, make the reservation, and feel prepared when you bring your students. The guide also includes history on the tram and Sandia Mountains, a scavenger hunt and an engaging questionnaire for the students.
SCHOOL GROUP REQUIREMENTS: Must be school-funded. Available after Labor Day Monday and up until Memorial Day weekend. VALID: Monday – Friday, 9am till 4pm, only. Blackouts: Holidays, October 1-15.

Plan Your Trip
Determine how long you will be visiting Sandia Peak Tramway. You will need arrive at the tram 15-30 minutes before your scheduled departure. A typical group can take between 45 minutes to two hours atop Sandia Peak (not including travel time), depending on the number of guests in the group.
Determine your estimated cost of the trip. Will this trip need approval from your school, director, leader, district, etc?
Determine how you will pay for the trip (Purchase Order, School Check, Credit Card, Cash).
How will lunch be offered? Sandia Peak Tramway allows sack lunches to be eaten on the outside patio at the lower terminal or on the observation deck at the upper terminal. Picnics are always fun! Groups are also welcome to join us at our lower terminal restaurant, Sandiago’s Grill.
How many chaperones/adults/leaders will you need to attend with you for a safe and effective trip?
If this is a school trip, what curriculum are you covering in class that will tie into the tram? (History, Life Zones, Science)
Be sure to have all guests bring a light jacket, closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, water and a snack.
