Portions of the Crest area will be temporarily closed for a forest health and wildfire prevention project from April 30, 2026 – Fall 2027.
Please note that this closure does not impact operations at the Sandia Peak Tramway or TEN 3. Both will remain open and welcoming guests during this time.
During this closure, the South Crest Trail and others are still accessible from the top of Tram for hiking adventures!
As always, if you are planning to hike, please come prepared with proper clothing, footwear, water, snacks.
