SAMPLE ITINERARY
There’s no such thing as an ordinary day at Sandia Peak. Here is a sample itinerary to help you get the most from your visit.
Purchase Tickets Online
*Pro Tip: Screen shot the ticket code on your phone for faster scanning. Keep an eye on the weather. Being located in the mountains, weather is ever-changing. At times we can experience delays and closures for lightning or high winds.
Arrive and Park
There is a grounds fee of $3.50 added to each online ticket order purchase. Be sure to have your ticket confirmation with you when you arrive!
Accessible parking is located in the upper parking lot of the lower terminal, east of the building along the mountain side. An elevator will take you to the second floor for flight ticketing and boarding.
Take Flight
Once the tram has arrived at the Lower Tram Terminal, online ticket purchases will be checked and you can board the tram. Once all passengers are loaded on the tram, you will experience the 15 minute ride to the top. Your knowledgeable Tram operator will serve as your guide.
WHAT TO BRING?
A mask or face covering, jacket or sweater (temperature at the top is always cooler), sunscreen, water, sunglasses, a hat! Forgot something? We have a great selection in the Sandia Tram Gift Shop.
Enjoy the View
You will be transported 2.7 miles above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain. Your vantage point from the observation deck at 10,378 feet provides 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley. Don’t miss sunset, when the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color!
Grab a Bite
Sandia Peak Tramway has a new, beautifully constructed restaurant called TEN 3 at the Peak. TEN 3 is open for both Fine and Casual Dining experiences.
Come on Down
Stay as long as you like – there are two Tram cars and they run every 15-30 minutes. Boarding is based on first come, first serve. While you wait, experience year-round interpretive exhibits and seasonal programs in the upper terminal. Last flight down differs, so be sure to check.
