Combine your love for dogs and the outdoors at the base of the Tram on Saturday, May 10th, from 9am - 11am. Enjoy beautiful views, music, coffee from @thebrewabq , tasty treats from @tailwaggin_temptations, and scenic hiking trails to explore together. 🐕

We’re excited to partner once again with local pet businesses and non-profits who will have tables set up for you to stop by and learn more about their services, and what they do for our pet community. Please note, only service dogs are allowed on the Tramcar. This event is free and open to the public, so come out and join us!

As warmer weather brings more people outdoors, hiking in the Sandia Mountains remains challenging, especially at higher elevations. These photos, taken on March 2nd, 2025, shows snow-packed trails. While some snow is melting, icy and muddy conditions persist above 7,500 feet. Trails above 8,000 feet are still icy, making traction devices essential for safety. Carry them through spring, especially in the mid-to-upper Sandias. For recommendations, visit Friends of the Sandias. 🥾

Also, make sure to download area maps to your phone before your hike, as relying on GPS alone can be difficult without a map. Conditions can change quickly, so staying prepared is key to your safety!
